The experience of my last day of compulsory school was an interesting one to say the least. Considering I had two GCSE exams on that day (both over an hour long) I managed to do a lot of thinking, for instance I've spent 5 years of my life with 160 people who after the last day i will most probably never see 100 of them again. It made me realise that my high school experience so far has been mostly influenced by those around me.
Throughout high school I have had my share of friends, who now are just people that looking back were never good friends in the first place. I'm lucky to have a big group of friends around me that i can rely on and trust to have a good laugh with, but like with most friendship groups there's those people that will use and abuse your trust.
During my first 3 years of high school I had this one 'friend' who at the time was my best friend, she was in all of my classes and in my form class. We did everything together and along with two other girls (who now I'm still very close with) we had an amazing time. As our friendship group grew so did this 'friend' hate for everything and anything. She started doing petty things like having bitching sessions about really close friends and then backstabbing them, this went on for 4 years until finally I realised that she wasn't a friend for me anymore and that she was actually ruining the way I was acting around people as she was affect me that much.
Over the past year this so called 'friend' has been having the same affect on others, she's now no-longer part of our friendship group as she showed her true colours on more than one occasion. I know high school can be a traumatic experience for everyone whether you discover love, sex or new friends it should be an experienced that is treasured and enjoyed.
On our last day we had the opportunity to sign each others shirts and it made me realise that even though I had a bad experience with friends I still had a strong community around me of people that have changed my life for the better, its a shame that I will never see them again and I will never have the chance to tell them that.
whether your high school experience is good or bad just remember you only have one so make it the best it can be.
Stay sassy and embrace happiness,
love A.T.M x

So there's this boy...
So there's this boy. He's gorgeous, and funny. I never really realised it before but I'm starting to like him, and i think he likes me too. He's in a different friendship group too me and is only in one of my classes, so i don't see him all the time. Over the years we have become more and more friendly. We have that type of friendship where no matter what we tell each other it will be kept between us and be joked about later. It's quite a flirtatious friendship as well. (lets call him Dan)
I didn't realise the friendship was flirtatious until a couple of weeks ago when i was talking to him and one of our Friends (lets call him Ben) kept looking a us. Talking to Ben afterwords he kept saying "is there something going on here". This is when i realised how much me and Dan actually did act like a couple. We always flirt with each other, tell each other the truth about everything and every time were with each other we can't stop laughing. Its got to the point know where quite a few people have asked if we're going out.
But there's a problem (there can't be a love story without one). Nearly all of my Friends hate him, and i mean HATE HIM and too make it worst no-one will tell me why. Now i don't know whether we should try dating but privately, try it publicly and deal with my friends later or just say to him that we need to stop having this flirty relationship and just be normal Friends.
If anyone could give me help on the situation please comment below. For more 'Dan' updates type #danproblems below.
